Welcome! My name is Denise. I am a travel blogger, content creator, and expat helping you explore the best of London and the world with a 9 to 5.
Several years ago I traded in the sunshine and palm trees of my hometown in LA to live the expatriate life across the pond in London. When I’m not helping improve my client’s businesses as a consultant, I love to exploring new places, trying out the best London restaurants, photography, and more.
Denise Cas is a luxury travel blog that specializes in weekend getaways for the 9-to-5 traveller. This is a place for me to share my travel guides & itineraries to help with your travel plans. It’s also a place to share awesome photos + travel tips + foodie experiences. I hope my blog inspires you to create your own adventures whether local or abroad.
Why Did I Make This Site?
I designed this site to not only share my experiences whether it’s my journey as an expat and traveler, exploring new fashion and art exhibitions, indulging in culinary delights around town, and more. Eventually, I hope this becomes a resource for travelers, expats, and local explorers who want to get the most out of their destination and fit in travel and micro-adventures around their full-time job schedule. Whether you’re looking to maximize your time off, or looking for fresh insight into your town, or embarking on a stint living abroad, this website is for you!
My goal is to encourage you to explore as much as possible, whether it be across the world or within your local area. On this site, you will find itineraries for my weekend trips (plus longer trips too), as well as expat perspectives and local adventures, plus my complete photo gallery of each adventure which don’t make it onto Instagram.
My Travel Style
I strive to find the perfect balance between tourist and local on all my adventures. To me, travel is about venturing out into the unknown whether that’s within your own city or across the world. This means experiencing other cultures whether it’s indulging in its history, art, architecture, food, etc.
I fund my own travels, so I am always conscious of my spending, but I am willing to splurge on experiences. Most all of my travels fall under the label of “affordable luxury” — a combination of comfort, convenience, and variety. I’ll stay at a more upscale boutique hotel with a wonderful view of a major landmark like the Matterhorn and then opt to stay in a more humble BnB my next trip; as a foodie, I’ll enjoy street food as I explore the city, but will also indulge in the occasional tasting menu at a Michelin-star restaurant. A healthy balance of the best of both worlds.
